Fred Smith was an extraordinary shutterbug, traveling the Northeast and
recording racing activities for over 25 years. Affable and gregarious, Fred thought
nothing of rubbing elbows with local racers or the likes of Mario Andretti & A. J.
Foyt, he was liked by all. Fred was the track photographer at eleven different
tracks including Pocono, Shangri-La, Penn-Can and Twin Valley as well as free
lancing at nearly all tracks. His wonderful photo's are his legacy and gift to all of
us, an excellent record of our racing heritage. Fred unfortunately passed on
December 18, 2005 but his pictures will live on forever. We're pleased to be able to
display them here in agreement with his family's wishes and to note that they are
still available through either Ted Schmidt or John Grady, please refer to our
Sources page if you'd like to purchase any of Fred's photo's. Enjoy.
