JOHN FLACH STARTED RACING IN 1956 @ RTE. 66 SPEEDWAY AND
WAS CONSIDERED ONE OF THE TOUGHEST COMPETITORS IN THE
AREA. HE ALSO RACED AT MENANDS, OLIVE BRIDGE, ARLINGTON,
RUTLAND AS WELL AS PINE BOWL AND CULMINATED HIS RACING
CAREER BY COPPING THE 1962 LEBANON VALLEY TRACK
CHAMPIONSHIP. AND HE DID IT AGAINST THE LIKES OF DOUG
GARRISON, D.D. 'REBEL' HARRIS, AND JIMMY MARKLE TO NAME A
FEW. HIS CREW CONSISTED OF FRED KLOB AND STAN WETMORE,
WHO WERE ALSO VERY GOOD RACERS IN THEIR OWN RIGHT.
JOHN AND HIS SON JR. ARE THE ONLY FATHER - SON TANDEM TO
COP VALLEY CHAMPIONSHIPS AND ARE HONORED IN THE TRACK'S
HOF AS WELL. WITH THE FAMILY RAISED JOHN HAS NOW TURNED
HIS ATTENTION BACK TO RACING AND HAS REPRODUCED HIS
BEAUTIFUL #77 FORD COUPE, COMPLETE WITH A 296 CROSSFIRE
STROKED MERCURY FLATHEAD, BUILT BY CLIFF WRIGHT.
