"Add the Caption"
Ok, let's have some fun. I'm going to periodically add photos
here (as I find worthy ones), and ask viewers to submit their
remarks in relation to what's going on in the picture. Your
chance to be creative and funny - I only ask that you 'keep it
clean'. At the end of the week I'll add the submitted captions
for all to see - you're chance to be a star..

We'll start with an easy one..Russ Bush has just had a jingle at the NYS
Fairgrounds in 1962 as captured in this Bob Hunter gem. There are some
obvious comments to be added here, what say you??

This one should be fun...Paul 'Zeke' Zedar has had his evening of racing at
Penn-Can interrupted by an interloper intent on intercepting his visions of
victory... Hmmm, wonder what's going through his mind at this time? OK -
I'll start - "Uhh, Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon?"  - Fred
Smith moment from 1965
Two brave souls..

12/14/08 Did any one get the plate number of that truck? Mike Newell

Ok, lets try this again... Roger Sowers obvioulsy put a lot of effort into this
mid-engined modified he raced in Pennsylvania - truly a marvel of
engineering, it was unfortunately, unsuccessful. I'll refrain from adding
my thoughts this week and give you guys first crack... Les King Photo.

Ok, after several complaints about the lack of a new 'Add the Caption'

HAMB, Dave Scarbrough has his hands full...
And here are the replies...

Fulton 200 - 1966, this is the infamous 'V-Flip' photographed by Dick
Ranier who was working with Bob Hunter on this day, using a mirror box
and fast shutter, he caught the entire sequence as leader Lee Osborne,
driving Larry Huff's #21 (a former Dutch Hoag - Turner Bros. #18) lost his
right front wheel. Running second, Bob "Flip" Sweeny #42 went over the
wheel and third place runner, Gordy Wood #96 caught Sweeny's bumper as
he went over. This was the result. What is going through their minds at
this point??
11/3/09  "and I thought yesterday was a bad day …." Gary Wood

11/4/09 "I don't think that we were supposed to be part of the Joie
Chitwood Thrill Show!!" Mark Southcott

"Let's see what letter of the alphabet we can try to make next!" Mark
Southcott

And mine.. "This is going to Hurt.." - or - "I shoulda stayed in bed.."

5/11/2010 And here we have three stock car veterans performing their
version of the "Village Peoples" YMCA . Dave Burlingame
